Liberal Democrats want Tony Blair to scrap his plans to build more nuclear power plants.
Nuclear power is not the answer to the energy crisis. Only by investing in green energy such as solar, wind and wave power, and by doing more to reduce the amount of energy we consume will we find a long-term answer to the problem.
New nuclear power stations cost millions of pounds to build. Then millions more of YOUR money must be spent getting rid of the waste.
Every person in the UK is paying £1,500 to clean up the waste from the last 50 years. Imagine how much more it will cost us if we have more nuclear power in the future.

The Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 20 years ago is still affecting health, livelihoods and food production across Europe.
In times of great concern about terrorism, it's crazy to build new nuclear reactors in the UK.
Where will they be built?
Tony Blair says new nuclear power stations will be built on existing sites. But no one believes his promises any more!
How long will it be before the Government is demanding extra power stations on new sites?
No wonder people are asking why the Government wants to scrap the powers that we all have to challenge plans for new power plants. Planning regulations will be limited to stop local people having their say.
