_Hampshire Robs the Local Economy of £600,000_

Cash flow is the life blood of any company. For small and medium sized
companies acting as banker for others is simply unavoidable and equally
unacceptable. Many companies have collapsed in this recession from the small to large because of cash flow problems.
This was recognised by the Hampshire Senate at the beginning of last
year when it was agreed that all local authorities would pay all their
undisputed bills within 10 days.
Unfortunately Hampshire County Council is merrily robbing the local
economy and business of tens of thousands of pounds by paying its bills
at 30 days. The County Council is ignoring its own Senate.
Councillor Chris Thomas said "This is outrageous. We knew something was
going on, but now the facts are out, it's time the county got its act in
gear and helped our businesses. It makes a mockery of the Conservative
claim to be the party of business."
"If any business is having cash flow problems because of the county delays, please contact me info@hampshireeconomy.co.uk and I will do what I can to help".
County Lib Dem Leader Keith House said, "Chris Thomas' forensic analysis has exposed gross hypocrisy by the County Conservative Leadership. This is a £600,000 interest-free loan each year from Hampshire businesses, when the County Council has tens of millions of pounds of reserves. They should be ashamed!"
