Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne joined other campaigners against the compulsory fluoridation of the local water supply at a drop-in exhibition held at the Wells Centre, Wells Place, Eastleigh.
Mr Huhne is pictured here with anti-fluoride campaigners Ann Richards and Anna Peckham who are pressing the Government for a rethink about a decision taken despite 72 per cent opposition in the local consultation.
"The way this decision has been pushed through by a government quango with no attention to the wishes of local people is quite shocking" said Mr Huhne who has asked for a review of the policy.
"I am not persuaded that the benefits of fluoridation are established, while there are some clear costs. The local NHS would do better by providing dentists on the National Health Service."
