"Hampshire Tories continue to cut services despite having over £103M in the bank" says Lib Dem Deputy Leader Brian Dash, "People have a right to know why services are being cut while they stash away cash for an election in two years time."
Liberal Democrat proposals to restore cuts to bus services, increase cash for road repairs, reverse the draconian cuts to the Library Service and invest more in our young people were rejected by the Tories. These proposals, amounting to £8.6 M, could have been funded by less spending on publicity, reducing costs in the organisation and use of the little of the £103M nest egg.
Brian says, "It's all very well saving for a rainy day (election year) but people deserve services today."
