Action to cut crime

Liberal Democrats would ensure that every district in Hampshire has a team of community support officers to help cut crime and anti-social behaviour.
The Conservative chairman of Hants & Wight Police Authority recently TURNED DOWN the chance to get extra Government money to pay for action against crime. Thankfully he was forced into a U-turn by the Lib Dem leader on the Authority!
Hampshire Liberal Democrats would also invest more in the County Youth Service to help ensure young people have something constructive to do with their time.
Police numbers in Hampshire rose by over 500 when the Lib Dems ran the Police Authority. Nationally the party wants to scrap Labour's compulsory ID cards to pay for 10,000 extra police officers.
